Work At Home - Success Begins With Set Goals
If you are planning to work at home, you can learn a lot from statements which came into existence decades before the birth of online marketing. For instance, Walt Disney said, "A wish is a dream your heart makes". Nobody can argue with that. But when it come to understanding the importance of setting your goals to gain success in life, some people just seem to give up. They'd prefer to keeping wishing their life away.
Getting what you wish for is called achievement and goal setting is an essential step in fulfilling your dreams and desires. Getting from 'Point A' to 'Point B' requires a road map and the only way to lay out a solid path is by setting and working toward goals. It's a fact of life.
Life isn't easy. But let's step back and give you a little breathing room to allow you to think about how you got to where you are right now. If someone walked up to you today and said, "Wow! I have a great idea! All you need to do to get what you want in life is to set some goals...", you'd probably have a strong desire to either laugh at the thought or lash out at that person. You 'already know' that setting goals gets you to where you want to be. Chances are you didn't end up where you are today without some sort of plan in mind.
RIDING A WAVE
Maybe you got to where you are today without a plan. Maybe you are one of those who simply rode a wave. Either by intent or circumstance, many people ride the wave of life and end up wherever they're tossed. If you've never experienced the thrill of creating a goal and seeing it through, then whether you've simply been surfing through life up until now doesn't matter. Goals can be set and achieved at any time in your life.
WRITE IT DOWN
Maybe you haven't set goals in the past and are wondering why the process seems so important to other people. Perhaps you see yourself as an individualist and even the idea of setting a goal would throw your entire self-worth and true identity out the proverbial window. So why not give it a try. If it doesn't work for you - keep surfing. But if setting one goal and sticking to it changes your life and moves you one step further in the direction you truly desire, then set another goal and keep moving ahead one step at a time.
CHANCE vs. INTENT
Wanting to lose fifty-pounds in three weeks isn't realistic. You know that! But losing fifty pounds within four to five months is realistic and doable. The importance of setting your goals to gain success begins with 'not setting yourself up for failure'. Likewise, why cheat yourself by prolonging a goal simply because someone else tells you it isn't achievable? Losing an average of ten pounds of fat, per month, over a period of five months is doable.
FEAR NOT
While going through the process of turning your "wish list" into a reality based "real life goal", you may just want to keep the process entirely to yourself for a little while. Even if you get really excited about getting a goal settled it's probably best to let others know about your goal once you have started moving toward achieving it and not merely wishing for it to happen.
Of course, if you plan to work at home, your goal setting is a tad more extensive than merely creating a wish list. But there is absolutely no reason why you have to make the process boring. Have fun creating goals! Never underestimate the importance of setting your goals to gain success by starting with a wish list first.
