Do Not Let Go of Your Dream To Work At Home
Have you ever though of the advantages you would have if you could work at home? Let us take a moment to think about it.
- You can take a break without having to feel like you are being watched.
- You do not have to worry about daycare.
- You do not need to commute to work at back home everyday.
- You save on gas by not having to commute.
- You do not have to worry about fitting into the corporate culture.
- You do not have a micromanaging boss breathing down your neck.
So far so good, right?
Does working at home look like something that you would like to do, or is it just a pipe dream to you? If there is a will, there is a way.
For example, think about celebrities and athletes who grew up very poor, but were their lives around. Do you think they ever had doubts? Of course they did. However, they put those doubt aside, and kept working towards their dreams until them reached them.
So what do you need to do to reach your dreams? First of all, in order to get an online business going you, will need to find your niche. Consider what you enjoy doing. Look into a subject or product which you have some prior knowledge of, and/or interest in. For instance, you do not want to be selling pet supplies if you hate animals, and no nothing about caring for them. It is just very difficult to stay motivated if your business is based on a product or service which you know nothing, or do not care about.
I remember someone approaching me and asking me if I would be a spokesperson for the young sector of their political party. The money which they were offering me was through the roof. However, there is no way that I could have accepted the position. Okay, yes, physically, I could have accepted the position. However, mentally, there is no way that I could perform day in and day out, representing a political party whose beliefs I do not subscribe to myself.
Nonetheless, once you have figured out your niche, it is best that you get your own website. If you do not know HTML, you can easily create a website with very little knowledge by using Joomla!. However, in order to understand Joomla!, I suggest that you purchase a book on Joomla! for guidance. I know very little about HTML. However, I created this very website using Joomla!. If I did not spend the $30 of the book, it would have taken me five times longer than it did to create this website.
Once you create your website, market it each and every day. Try to get noticed in chat rooms, forums, and article sites. Be sure the link to your website is always included in the signature file or in your article.
Most importantly, DO NOT give up too soon. Things almost never move along as quickly as we want. A “want it now” attitude has wasted a lot of my efforts simply because I just didn’t give my business enough time to develop. When I look at the past, just as I was on the brink of really making something successful, I got impatient and gave up. If you keep working on your business, in due time it will flourish.
Keep in mind that with brick and mortar businesses, the common consensus is that you are doing well if you break even after the first year. However, with less fixed costs for an online business, this analogy is inapplicable So long as you continuously promote your website, there is no reason that you should not turn a profit the first year that you work at home.
Be patient. Work hard. See results.
Zero Cost. Zero Obligation.
