Use Autoresponders as Your Persistent Salesperson

One thing that you should know at the outset is that in order to make money online, you need to be persistent. Please do not confuse persistence with annoyance. While there is a thin line between the two, both result in converse outcomes.

So how do you go about being persistent, but not annoying, when promoting your online business? Set up an autoresponder to be that persistent salesperson.

An autoresponder is simply a computer program which is set up to automatically respond to e-mails which are sent to it. In addition, autoresponders can be set up so that they send preloaded e-mail messages to a customer or prospective customer at preset time intervals. This is very important in sales.

Most of those in sales, both online and offline, will tell you that most sales occur after the prospect has already said "no" five or six times. Your autoresponder is set up to allow the buyer to say "no", until they are ready to say "yes".

Keep in mind that buyers range across the spectrum. There are buyers who will visit your website, read you sales copy, and make the decision to buy right then and there. At the opposite end of the spectrum, there will be the buyer who will need to be persuaded over time and a series of e-mail messages. Therefore, even if you have an outstanding sales page, you will only convert a certain percentage of visitors into buyers on first viewing. Others will only buy after seeing the information a certain number of times. While others will need to see a track record and reputation before they will give your company enough credibility to make a purchase.

Nonetheless, when using an autoresponder to promote your products, you must create separate campaigns with different messages for different products. It is far easier to sell a product to a group of individuals with common interests than it is to a generic list. Ensure that you formulate each campaign with a series of messages, preprogrammed to go out at set time intervals. For instance, you can have your autoresponder set up to send an instant message, a second message after three days, a third message after five days, and so on. Just make sure that you are not sending daily messages, otherwise you will cross over from persistence to annoyance. Just encourage e-mail recipients to take action, and use your words to help them see what is in it for them.

Once your campaigns are set up, they can happen automatically once a prospect subscribes to your sales page. Thereafter, you just need to simply tweak your messages until you have the perfect salesperson doing your heavy lifting. Meanwhile, you can focus on other aspects of your business.

Just think of what you need to see when you are the buyer and someone is trying to convince you to purchase their product. For me, regular contact and explanation of the benefits which I will achieve are important in my buying decision. Sometimes it just takes one key fact in an e-mail to show the buyer that your product is for them.

So here is what you need to do. First, you will need to sign up for a e-mail marketing software program. Just type "autoresponder" into the search engine, and find the best solution for you. Then, set up a series of persuasive messages in your autoresponder which are geared to encourage people to take action, and purchase your product. Excite them with what your product(s) can do for them. Continue with the messages after the purchase to encourage them to take action and use the product, in addition to introducing related products to them.

Autoresponders are a great tool for those who want to make money online. Use them to your advantage.
