One of the great mysteries to those on a quest to make money online, is getting free traffic to your website. Accumulating followers is akin to finding potential customers, the difference on Twitter is not the hard sell but the soft sell.

You can use your Twitter account to communicate your marketing message as well.  For example let's say that you have a political blog that you want to promote to a wider audience.  You can create a Twitter account around your political preference and actively search for others who are" tweeting" about the same.  In this way you are building a following for your political blog.  Use your Twitter account to publicize your posts as they come out with a url back to your blog.

If you follow Internet news in any way you have undoubtedly seen some of the latest celebrity news being "Tweeted" on Twitter. Also most major news outlets are using Twitter or Facebook to communicate to their viewership recent news items. It seems that everyone has a Twitter page.
