A Long Time Ago, in a Distant Land...

Truthfully, it was about 3 years ago, and we were in a rut. As newcomers to the network-marketing world, we had barely any business experience and non-existent marketing skills.

We had tried every offline skill known to our upline: networking events, flyers, post-cards, business cards, purchased leads, CD's, DVD's, Memory Jogger list, followed the director's websites. We had a corporate-replicated website. But no sign-ups. What was our problem?

After all, as evidenced by the endorsements and investments of business heavyweights like T. Boone Pitkens, Warren Buffett, and Donald Trump, network marketing's no longer in its trial stages. Its business model's time-tested since the 1800s with leaders like Avon and Tupperware.

We had to ask, "We're being teach-able, why isn't this working?" See, we had gained a couple sales and some leads... but no new recruits. The decision was simple. We were tired of giving up on our dreams, we deserved answers! And upon closer examination, we got them:

*48 Network-Marketing companies are currently functioning

*The Network-Marketing roles are filled with 175,000 new recruits weekly

*30 Million home-based business owners are in operation globally

*At any given time, there's 2.5 Billion internet users and growing.

*A business magazine article stated, by the latter half of 2010, One in 2 households will own a home business.

*85% of all Multi-Level Marketing companies have ceased operations in two years or less

*More than 95% of networkers haven't even recruited one downline, and are not making any profit

*A 20 year survey found answers to the question, "What are the attributes of the most successful organizations?"

1. Every new member needs a friend

2. Every member needs a job with the correct tools and training

That forced me to consider something: My Director's mentoring and their website

Ok, now I understand! My director was using his website to coach us and leverage their time effectively

These leaders also know how the masses of networkers skip around from company to company looking for the better deal. You see, the top earners know their subordinates aren't making any money, so they "brand" themselves. This designates them as trainer and leader for any business opportunity that comes their way. Ultimately freeing them from being bound to a product or service that may not be worthwhile in the end.

Here's the real-deal: The top earners of mlm affirm one truth... You are their sale, not the product

Networkers are constantly shuffled from one MLM to another. The leaders know this, so they learn how to "become the brand." Not the MLM's product brand... the trainer's own brand. They realize they must become autonomous, and self sufficient. Not relying on a particular company, but on their own training platforms to compensate them.

If you've been around the industry long enough, you begin to find that no one company is free of faults. In fact, some have even been worthy of the title "scam", and have tarnished the truly honorable aspects of the network-marketing industry. So when a sponsor says Duplication is the key, you must take that to be duplication of the top leaders' training programs. Not just trying to be a typical annoying salesperson, hawking the product. But "positioning" yourself as an authority on the subject of networking.

When I learned that, The Gloves were Off!

So I started the process of "branding". That is, until I realized I knew nothing about computer coding or website building, and even if I did, I felt like I had very little to contribute. I recognized that I had experience, but couldn't figure how to share or capitalize on it.

Til now. You may think, Ok, our upline teaches offline old-school tactics, supposedly enabling me to pawn off their company's product. So, Gimmie a break, What are You selling? I'm glad you asked

In my research I got a Break.

You know the phrase, "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a life-time". I found a way to "Brand" myself and offer a platform for others to do the same! My leaders never shared their secrets, but I'm not greedy. I know once I share this knowledge, I'm helping others earn true longevity in success.

What this means is, the most worthwhile transaction that takes place in business, stems from the oldest profession in history: Teaching. Or call it mentoring, coaching... whatever term you're comfortable with, the bottom line is people will be moved by enlightenment. Nagging people to death won't get it done. Most network marketers are still practicing those embarrassing, tacky sales pitches. But the true leaders don't.

And in case your recruiter forgot to mention: The top leaders know that to get there, you need at least 20 Highly-Qualified prospects (every day). And to do that, they keep up to date with the most effective tactics. Both paid, and Free ones.

Now your thoughts may be, "Well what's it going to take?" As The great Jim Rohn said, "Money is unimportant isn't it? Give me some ingenuity... a Dollar and a Dream... and together we'll create one of the classic success stories of the company."
