Many people do not believe in network marketing because of all the illegal marketing schemes that are currently being naively promoted both online and off. From my experience these schemes usually entail someone being convinced to send money and normally a lot of money to your up-line. The product does not usually justify the money.

A sure sign that you are being offered an illegal marketing scheme is that you cannot use your credit card to make the purchase. You either have to use cash, check or money order made out to your sponsor rather than the company. When you ask to use a credit card and you cannot; beware.

One suggestion way for identifying a legitimate MLM opportunity is how often you need to purchase product to quality for bonuses.

If there is no monthly commitment to purchase product, there is no network marketing opportunity.

You should do your research on the company and opportunity by searching the business name on Google and other directories to find out what people are saying about the company before joining.

Adding the word scam to the search box when conducting your search on the MLM opportunity will help you find out more information then what can be found on the opportunity's website.

Before transferring any money to a MLM company, remember to take your time and understand the business. This will help you take full advantage of the network marketing opportunity.

Research the person who is trying to recruit you into the business by reading their blog and talking to them on the phone about the business.

Find some network marketing training and participate in that training before joining any business. Industry training can help you make the right choices and shorter your learning curve. Failure to get network marketing training can result in your losing money and wasting time.
