It's been some time now since I started doing video marketing and it really hasn't been easy so I decided to create a list of stuff that might be helpful to those just entering the field. I'm in no way a guru or an expert but I think these little tips might be helpful if applied properly in any video marketing venture. So without any more preface, here are some video marketing hints and tips to keep in mind when creating your presentation.
1. Your opinion isn't worth anything - While it may sound harsh, this is true. Whatever you say over the internet doesn't matter nowadays, the only opinion that matters on the internet is the opinion of the consumers. No matter what sort of expertise you claim you have, if the reviews say the opposite then viewers will always believe those reviews over what you say.
2. Always have fun - Don't forget to have fun when doing your video marketing campaign. Whenever you're making a video or a presentation, you should look like you're having fun (it's better if you actually have fun as not to look fake) so that the viewer won't tune you out. If you look bored or unenthusiastic then the viewer will just skip the rest of the piece and move along.
3. Post everywhere - While popular, YouTube isn' the only sharing site out there. There are a lot of services out there that offer hosting for videos for the low, low cost of $0. Search them out and post there as well because every single hit counts when it comes to video marketing.
4. Optimize Anchor Text - Just like your articles and other pieces, you shouldn't forget to attach relevant anchor text to your videos. They're also counted by search engines and a properly anchored video link will always rank higher than one with just a "Here" link or something like that. This is something that a lot of people forget to do so this should really provide a good boost for you if you do it.
5. Do something unforgettable - a lot of people are jaded when it comes to content on the internet and they get bored quite easily. If you really want to be successful in using video marketing then you should do something that is outrageous and downright outlandish as to leave a lasting impression in their minds. A great example of this would be the "Will it Blend" campaign of BlendTec, they're doing outrageous videos and people love them for it.
6. A good title goes a long way - a good title can mean success or failure for your video marketing campaign. If no one clicks on your piece in the first place then it wouldn't matter how good it looks. The title should be catchy enough to grab the attention of the viewer so that he or she will view it.
7. Don't hard sell - people are tired of being sold to on the internet. Be informative in your productions and don't just be an internet version of a TV commercial. Video marketing isn't about making commercials.
