Many distributors who start investigating the world of online lead generation are sometimes shocked to find that their upline is totally against them doing it.

If you think about it for a moment it does not really seem to make much sense for them to discourage you from doing something that will probably result in you earning much money in you MLM and that of course will make them more money.

It does not seem to make any sense at all, why do they dislike it?

There are actually some pretty good reasons.

The bottom line is they fear a change or "evolution" in your mindset.

What I am referring to here is that the process of learning a powerful new skill will cause a fundamental change in how you view your business model.

Especially when it involves "funded proposals" and affiliate marketing.

Maybe its better referred to simply a shift in belief.

If you have been in the MLM business before then you know we are taught to always focus on the company as the huge opportunity.

But is it really? Well maybe, or maybe not.

So lets take a quick look at that evolution.

One of the first things you learn in MLM Marketing online is to never lead with your company but focus rather on branding marketing education and of course yourself.

So there is a change in marketing focus and you no longer lead with your company.

Now of course the objective is the same which is to sponsor people into your MLM but now you are leading with a online marketing system first and then bring in your company later once you have built some rapport with your prospect.

Next you learn now to generate a cash flow from your lead generation efforts by exposing them to affiliate offers for marketing tools.

As you continue your journey into online marketing, you find that you can get a lot of great leads from the internet, sponsor a lot of those leads into your MLM company, and even make money off of the prospects who did not join you by using affiliate offers.

Now you're trapped, because you now can see that the huge opportunity is not your company but rather the power is in learning how to market.

Next the big shift occurs. One day as you stare at all the checks on your desk from affiliate commissions, you have an ah-ha moment.

The realization hits you that your MLM company is just one of many other income streams and suddenly you start to look at it very differently.

Realization is a wonderful thing.

Our old style of doing business had us always leading with the company and branding them, so they became the most important part of the puzzle and we convinced everyone else the see it the same way.

The moment you learn that with marketing skill you can bring people into any MLM.....

Its like someone turned on the light!

So I guess you can see why upline leaders in MLM sometimes dislike or even hate this online stuff, it totally changes your perception and shatters the illusion of control.

It gets worse, you are no longer a mindless foot soldier, you are now a leader who measures the company by a different yardstick.

The power of course was always in the marketing.
